Nigg Old Church, in the Highlands of Scotland, is a fine example of a Scottish parish church and - since it houses a magnificent Pictish stone of the late eighth century, carved with Pictish symbols and Christian imagery - it is likely that it stands on what has been a place of Christian worship for at least 1200 years. It has, to this day, an atmosphere of peace and tranquillity.

Opening times are from 10am to 5pm, 1 April to 31 October.

This website gives some information about the history of the church and stone including images and quicktime movies. It also explains how the church is maintained by the Nigg Old Trust, and how this maintenance is funded. Thanks go to Ross & Cromarty Enterprise and the Leader programme for assistance in the creation of the site.
